Creating the hand-guilloché dial is a painstaking process that demands exceptional precision, patience and mastery. Using a vintage rose engine lathe dating back to the late 19th century, a skilled artisan carefully engraves the dial through a series of controlled mechanical movements. Each dial requires hours of meticulous work, with every cut executed with absolute accuracy and no margin for error. The result is a testament to traditional watchmaking craftsmanship, where time, skill and precision converge in the creation of a truly exceptional dial.

Mojon’s Tourbillon Artistry

The Chief Tourbillon marked a defining milestone in Favre Leuba’s history as the brand’s first-ever tourbillon watch. At its heart lies the FLT01, designed by renowned movement creator Jean-François Mojon. This hand-wound calibre delivers exceptional precision through its tourbillon escapement, operating at 3 Hz with a 60-hour power reserve from a single barrel. Comprising 23 jewels and distinguished by refined finishing across its main plate and bridges, the movement embodies the brand’s pursuit of mechanical excellence.

A marvel of horological ingenuity, the tourbillon takes center stage in Favre Leuba's newest Chief Tourbillon guilloché Edition. Nestled at six o'clock, the tourbillon escapement is gracefully supported by two hand-finished bridges that extend seamlessly

The opposing sections of the tourbillon cage’s upper bridge evoke an hourglass, hinting at the brand's emblem. This bridge also supports the rehaut of the small seconds dial, with the flame-blued small seconds hand positioned at its centre. These three functions are merged into a component as complex to precision-engineer as it is to finish.

The exhibition caseback reveals an immaculately decorated movement, where bold Côtes de Genève stripes sweep across the main plate, softened by a subtle anthracite finish. The ratchet wheel bears Favre Leuba's iconic hourglass emblem, while gold engravings of the brand logo and technical details offer a delectable contrast, echoed beautifully by the striking blue screws.

Crafted in stainless steel, its 41mm diameter, slender 11.45 mm profile, and gently curved contours ensure a snug, comfortable fit on the wrist, while elegantly housing the intricate tourbillon complication.

This devotion to comfort and wearability reveals itself through thoughtful details: the monogram-embossed knurled crown allows for effortless manipulation, while the gently curved sapphire crystal, complete with an anti-reflective coating, ensures impeccable clarity.

The three-link integrated steel bracelet features a combination of finishes, alternating between vertical brushing and polished centre links. It unites seamlessly with the case and tapers towards the end which gives it a graceful presence on the wrist. The bracelet is equipped with an easy change mechanism and secures with a butterfly clasp.
